Bradford Shotokan Academy was established over 40 years ago and soon became one of the finest Karate Clubs in Bradford. Led by 9th Dan, Sensei Fred Fawcett, himself a winner of many National and International Championships and a European Gold Medal Winner. Bradford Shotokan Academy has now become, not only one of the best Karate Clubs in Bradford, but one of the best Karate Clubs in the country.  

Sensei Fawcett has inspired and trained many students who have themselves gone on to win titles at local, regional, national and international levels.  

The most recent have been successes at the AMA International, Welsh Open, BSK National Championship, All of England Championships, FEKO National Championships, JSKA Great Britain National Championships, UMA English Open Junior and Cadets Karate Championships and international events such at the Polish Grand Prix and the Malta Open.  

We cater for all levels of expertise and the club has many family members who enjoy training together. we cover all aspects of Karate training and look to develop all our students to their maximum potential.   The club competes at tournaments locally, nationally and internationally, we also have a very successful squad as the club offers expert coaching for those who are interested in competing.

Our instructors, as well as holding nationally recognised coaching qualifications are CRB checked and hold first aid qualifications. Your first Karate lesson will consist of a light warm-up followed by some basic exercises that will help you begin learning the fundamental techniques you will require to learn Karate.
